A Native Texan, Kelly grew up on her family-owned ranch with a small cow-calf operation in Central Texas. Kelly attended Texas A&M University where she achieved her BBA in both Finance and Accounting. Following her undergraduate work, Kelly earned her Master of Real Estate from Mays Business School at Texas A&M.
Afterward Kelly moved to San Antonio where she worked for a large family-owned company that developed and invested in commercial real estate throughout the state. It was there where her hunger for utilizing property to foster the connection of people and strengthen communities really grew. After 4.5 years with Hixon Properties, Kelly took the leap of moving out west to the Northern Rockies.
In Bozeman, Kelly joined an investment firm focused on restoring and conserving ranches located in the west. In her role with the company, Kelly traveled the west meeting and working with conservation professionals, environmental experts, farm and ranch brokers, landowners, and other active constituents across Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Oregon, Colorado, and New Mexico. She sourced new deals, underwrote investments, and led multiple property acquisitions and dispositions through the due diligence and transaction processes. It was in this position that Kelly’s fascination of the compelling connection of place and people collided with her inherent entrepreneurial spirit. Earlier this year, Kelly ventured out on her own and created Topos & Anthros, a real estate and conservation-consulting firm aimed to simplify land ownership. Kelly’s career has exposed her to an impressive collection of people, projects, and deals across a wide range of asset classes and geographic markets.
Outside of the office, Kelly serves on the Board of Montana Aquatic Resource Services. MARS restores and protects Montana’s aquatic resources through their In-Lieu Fee for wetland and stream restoration as well as by means of channel migration easements. Kelly also volunteers locally with the Museum of the Rockies on their TwoFly fly-fishing fundraiser committee and with the Bozeman Area Community Foundation.
Additionally, Kelly enjoys spending her time fly fishing, hiking, travelling, exploring new places, taking in live music, getting back to Texas, engaging in her community, meeting new people, writing, playing tennis, watching comedy, reading Hemingway, and star gazing.
Kelly is currently licensed in Montana. She resides in Bozeman, MT.
